It was a mess
I didn’t make
sounds on the stair –
dog barking

it was a day
beyond lies
but less, far less
than truth

name me an ugly
dance, naked with
the heart-shot
falling bear

I am the anguish
that answers the door

Powerfully evocative images, Russell. You've put your own voice into this one. Well done!

Hi GST! Great to have your wonderful comment. Yes, we seem to be rather close to one another at times. I Wish you and your friend the best! I'll be checking back on you again soon, sweet lady.

Thanks Aurora! Yes that was my own voice. I was looking for that one you like so much but couldn't find it that night. This poem just overpowered it and me instead. Thanks for the great comment, my sweet.

Me too Russel after I've circumnavigated the versuvian washing pile, made terms with the cat and wrestled the bathroom from all three children
