A Snowy Day

The snow has shown
The cold has come
The children laugh
The adults hum.

Grey skies threaten
The real short day
To festooned fragments
In purest white.

The snow has shown
The cold has come
The children laugh
The adults hum.

Asian eyes and wrinkled smiles
Gather happy laughter and shrieked delight.
Children slide and roll,
Tirelessly sensual.

The snow has shown
The cold has come
The children laugh
The adults hum.

Winter play, warm fires,
Happy laughter, bright eyes
Never strain their welcome.
