So superficial are the suits
That make us grown.
So real the forgotten children
That are the growing
Shadow within.
Our discomfort is
Endless as the sand by the ocean
And comfortable between our toes.

I feel this so strongly-in fact I try to avoid growing up where possible although my children tell me off for it

That's true Pat. Childhood is the place where we first introduced with the magic we could find in this world. They tried to drum it out of us in school but they didn't completely succede. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks Nick! We must fight that decay with wisdom but not as a grown-up. Fortunately, in my case, age does not truely correlate with maturity.

I think I'm going to start lecturing wearing my ball cap, Ozy. I also carry a Chinese Opera Masks fan to my classrooms where the AC doesn't work too well (I don't think the ball cap could do any further damage to my reputation, do you?).
