place

town of my dreams
streets slick with night
green spring sunny days
time
to sit
and write

breakfast
and lunch on the terrace
sparkling sea water
peaceful
walks along the beach

talks with friends
colleagues students
artists

sunny day
convertible drives
top down
along a coastal highway

trips to mountains
picnics in meadows
music at the symphony hall
ballet and opera
at the theater

cocktails on the boat
in evening

cathedrals
cool large and hushed
outdoor cafes in the afternoon
people walking by
us sitting talking laughing

snorkeling
in quiet coves
of afternoon sun

barbeques
with friends
kids and grandkids

and time
precious time

Things money can't buy, eh. ;) From the beach to the theater to the backyard -- the 'ideal' simple life.

i must agree with your closing here... time best mentioned among the things in life that make it worth living.. time to just be.....

Yeah sweet Soulless, and places that belong to an unusual form of geography. My life is a bit over-complicated at the moment - I'm not talking about lazy living - but just the complication I choose and can handle. No more out of controll and maxed beyond the limit. Thanks for that wonderful comment!

Hi Paisley! That's the issue exactly, time should be our friend not an enemy. You are very perceptive. Thanks for that fine comment.

Hi, I really liked this piece, it brought to me a sense of peace, you've almost described a certain utopia. I love how vividly you described everything. Great use of words. Wonderful!

BTW, thanks for your comment on my blog! Have a great week.

I have "fallen" on those "streets slick with night" many times. The last two lines sum this up perfectly.

Hi Pat, how well you know me, my old friend! For some of us, I guess that descriptive metaphor is just calling a thing by its real name. And as for time, I love teaching just as I loved cooking. Everything should be practised as an art and a science but I wish I was a little freer to travel and study. There is still so much I want to understand. Thanks for that great comment.
