consciousness

I am who we want
It was all a mistake
which this is better
was that architecture
what was my mistake
we are not real
we are only each
others imagination
touch my
Corinthian column
I am in serious pain
We do not see
We are each others jokes which
We
unfortunately
take seriously

Thanks shubhodeep! I don't usually rhyme but I've been writing ghazals lately (often with a rhyme scheme) and this just seemed to work so well with this poem. Glad you liked it and and found it thought-provoking! Cheers and thanks, my friend.

glad to see you write ghazals, you did great with the one before this!

this seems to be the basis for all that goes wrong and yet this seems to be what keeps relationships going. in fact, i have noticed that if i go beyond a point, i might not like the person i find there... i dont know what i am sying... but this was brilliant, super!

thats the trick i guess....dont take anybody seriously least of all yourself

Thanks Gulnaz! I like the frame of reference provided by formal poetry. I enjoy writing ghazals and panthoums especially for some reason.

I think the important thing to understand is that the real and the imaginary are very often indistinguishable for some reason and we treat them as if they were identical much of the time. We have to take them absolutely seriously or we become jaded cynics. But you're absolutely right, humor is the best antidote for a disappointing realization.

Hope, I think, come from imagining someone to be something they are not and sometimes that even produces change, growth.

Thanks for that wonderful comment, my sweet one!
