inside me

i have a flower in my pocket
i have a question in my mind

i have a splinter in my awareness
i have an alter ego
who has left me

a message
in a bottle
floating hopefully
in the pool

on whose surface i gaze
hoping her reflection
will have lingered there

lazy as a smile
cute as a wink

with a line like 'a splinter in my awareness' you have turned this poem into something so sweet and soft...its like a gentle summer day or chochlate melting on your tounge...wonderful!

A sweet and lovely poem, deceptively deep and beautiful :)

Thanks Irving! Although there is plenty of evidence to the contrary, as you have so aptly observed, it still is a mistake to confuse sweet with superficial. Thanks for finding the depth here and appreciating it!
